FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
Barcelona held a public practice inside the stadium on 7 November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
