Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and continuing attack targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
It said wreckage fell on a neighborhood in the capital, causing some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
