'Living a Nightmare': Loved Ones of Missing Young People Await Answers After Ski Resort Blaze

The families of teens unaccounted for after a devastating inferno at a venue in a Swiss ski resort are confronting an excruciating period of uncertainty for official news and requesting information about their loved ones online.

The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the middle of the night of January 1st. Confirmed images show the roof structure catching alight as bottles with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have warned that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the those who perished of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and hurt another 119. A spokesperson stated on the latest update that 113 of the those hurt have been accounted for, with work still underway to name the other six.

In the waiting period, loved ones have been posting on online platforms to request information about their missing relatives who were at the bar that night.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his family.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, told a publication that she had returned to Lausanne to check whether he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the equivalent search in the capital, but did not locate him.

She added that some of his companions had been located with injuries covering nearly half their bodies. "It's indescribable; they endured a terrifying ordeal."

The Italian government has said that a number of of its nationals are still unaccounted for.

Young athlete Emanuele Galeppini, sixteen, was last heard from around the turn of the new year on December 31st, according to.

"A close friend told me they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive piece of jewelry.

One of his educators stated, "I remember his good nature and smile, combined with great responsibility. He would frequently offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to sources.

Her brother has shared an urgent request online, saying the family has had "no news" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the developments.
