Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity increased its recruitment of overseas employees on short-term work permits this year, even as his government was creating barriers for other companies wanting to do the identical, a report published recently claimed.

Based on information from the federal labor department, the business aimed to bring in at least 184 foreign workers in 2025 for temporary positions at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering workers including waitstaff, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the organization, and up from 121 in the previous term, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that the former president had attempted to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on available data.

The revelation comes amid a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has involved the introduction of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the 55 million people who possess US visas; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and reporters.

Overall, the business aimed to employ 566 foreign laborers over the period the former president has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Significantly, Trump was criticized by some in the GOP this week for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy particular roles.

“You cannot just say a nation is coming in, going to spend billions to construct a plant, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in five years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that well,” he told a host after she suggested that overseas employees lower the pay of US workers.

The administration refused a inquiry for response, and the business did not immediately respond to an request for information.
